Happy Sunday, Friends!

Be glad, as I am, that you are alive and still able to enjoy many of the most important aspects of life such as enhancing a store of wisdom and knowledge through prayer, reading, meditation, and attemptimg to show love to family and friends through phone calls, emails and making every effort to be agreeable and encouraging to everyone you know..

It’s still hard to believe how we suddenly got plunged into this Maelstrom of Fear, Deprivation, and Major Inconvenience. [I still refuse to call it a Disaster, and still believe the dangers have been grossly exaggerated for the purpose of strengthening Power and Control on the part of Government.]

Using a “crisis” –– real or conjured up –– to intimidate people and make them willing to give up their God-given liberties is a timeworn method of conquest and subjugation.

Remember it was Ben Frankin who said:

"They that can give up essential liberties for a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety."

~ Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790)

Also Edmund Burke in roughly the same time frame:

"The people never give up their liberties but under some delusion."

~ Edmund Burke (1729-1797)

At any rate please continue to enjoy yourselves no matter what, and remember:

Living Well

Best Revenge

For the beauty of the earth
For the day and for the night
For the land which from our birth
Ever and around us lies
Lord of all to Thee we raise
This our hymn of grateful praise.

Schumer Cries 'Uncle': Deal Reached on $2 Trillion Package to Pay for Our 'Strange New Reality'

Senate and White House negotiators reached an agreement early Wednesday morning on a $2 trillion stimulus package to help businesses and families affected by the coronavirus epidemic and to bolster the economy.

The agreement clears the way for the package to sail through both houses of Congress on its way to President Trump. Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin told reporters that Trump will sign the bill as soon as it reaches his desk.

“Ladies and gentlemen, we are done. We have a deal,” Eric Ueland, the White House legislative affairs director, announced at around 1 a.m., after five days of tense negotiations between leaders of the two parties and the White House. . . .

Poll: Americans Growing More Concerned over Economy Than Personal Heath

Americans are growing more concerned over the state of the American economy than that of their personal health, a Harris Poll released this week revealed.

The survey, fielded March 21-22 among 2,023 U.S. adults, found that a majority of Americans, 61 percent, now consider the amount of fear in society as “sensible given how serious the [coronavirus] pandemic has become.”

That reflects a 15-point jump from the 46 percent of Americans who viewed the fear as warranted last week. The survey also reviewed the issues people are “increasingly concerned about” and found that concerns over the economy surpass all other worries, . . .

Help, Lord! Help, Lord!
Wilt thou quite destroy us?

The harvest now is over
The summer days are gone,
And yet no power cometh to help us.

The deep affords no water.

The rivers are exhausted.

The suckling’s tongue now cleaveth
 for thirst to its mouth.

The infant children ask for bread,
But there is no one to feed them.

Lord, bow thine ear to our hand.
Zion spreadeth her hand for aid

But there is neither help nor comfort …

Teresa of Avila (1515-82) ~ Rubens 1577-1640)

Let nothing disturb thee,
Nothing affright thee
All things are passing
God never changeth
Patient endurance
attainteth to all things
Whom God possesseth
in nothing is wanting
Alone God sufficeth

~ § ~

WHAT DOES THIS CARTOON
MEAN TO YOU?

PLEASE REMEMBER WE ACCEPT NO PERSONAL INSULTS, NO SCOLDINGS,  NO TAUNTS, NO GIBES, NO-PLATITUDES, NO IDIOTIC CONTENT-FREE REMARKS, NO NASTINESS WHATSOEVER.

Don't you think that instead of labelling the arriving ALLIGATOR as SOCIALISM
it might have been even more approriate to identify it as the CORONA VIRUS?

About Miss Shaw Kenawe

Since far too many people –– many of them political friends and allies –– seem virtually ADDICTED to posting pointedly nasty, unkind remarks about Shawe Kenawe, I feel it incumbent on me to try to set the record straight.

Miss Shaw happens to be a VERY ATTRACTIVE older woman, who was a Great Beauty in her youth.  She's a very brave woman who has fought SEVERAL battles with CANCER, and still managed to pursue her serious interests in Art, Literature, Poetry and Music.  She's also a mighty fine, frankly world-class CHEF.  Her culinary accomplishments are second-to-none.

I would agree that Miss Shaw's politics are misguided at best, but that should NOT cause ANYONE to DENY that she has many other delightful attributes that qualify her as a LOVELY PERSON in realms OUTSIDE politics.

We were good friends for quite a while, corresponded privately on many pleasant topics, and even talked on the phone.

I deeply regret that Miss Shaw chose to abandon our friendship, because of my bitter, at times ribald, and always disrespectful opposition to HILLALULU, whom I cannot help but DESPISE.

But I have never held that against Miss Shaw, despite my disappointment, and I have always protected Miss Shaw at my blog, won't allow anyone to post obscene remarks about her there, and have steadfastly refused to jump on the Hate Shaw Bandwagon as a matter of Principle.

Now, all you chronic, ill-tempered, mindless advocates of relentless HATRED can put THAT in your pipes and SMOKE it.

GOOD DAY!
