  2. Something That Makes You Feel Glad To Be Alive:

    (1) the prospect and preparation for starting a new life in the Midwest, away from this crazy Northern Virginia area.

    (2) my education, which my parents saw to by keeping me in private school from K through 12th. A strong foundation in morality, too.

    1. I nderstand your eagerness to leave what has been a delightful ancestral home. It's often said, "You can't go home again."

I understand that, bu I wonder how may realize "You can't STAY at home once "Home" ceases to BE the home you knew and loved when you were growing up?"

Besides, as my father often said, "HOME is where your HEART is."

Thankful my parents encouraged me to think freely and outside of the box and then supported me when I did.

Thankful my parents didn't force a particular flavor of religion down my throat. They positively supported my choice.

Thankful rugged individualism was expected by my parents and being a follower and part of the "tribe" was frowned upon.

  9. Our friend KID, in hia ongoing series of pictures of celestial bodies issued a wonderful picture "The called The Eye of God Looking Over Turin at Night."

Some were quick to say how sure they were that GOD must be CRYING over the hideous mess mankind has made of His Creation.

I felt differently, and here is what I said at Confessiins of a Right Wing Pussycat, better known to me as kid's Great Blog:

The picture of TORINO (that's what the Italian call it) at night reminds me of

    O, little town of Bethlehem,
___ how still we see thee lie.
Above thy deep and dreamless sleep
___ the silent stars go by.
Yet in thy dark streets shineth
    ___ the Everlastng Light.
The hopes and fears of all the years
___ are met in thee tonight.

I don't believe God is as heartsick and disappointed as some of us imagine Him to be, because –– despite the hideous picture we get from the ENEMEDIA ––, the vast majority are decent, good-hearted, affectionste, generous with what they have no matter how little it may be, and most are working hard to do their appointed tasks and raise their children as well as they possibly can.

______ TO THOSE WHO HELP ______

May God bless the practical women and men,
Who rise from the hay every day, and then
    Produce what we need
    Without rancor or greed,
    Make things run,
    Get things done,
    Keep things clean,
So they're fit to be seen,
    And continuously smooth the way
So that we may live comfortably every day.

    ~ FreeThinke

We tend too easily to forget that it is the meek, the humble, the hardworking, and the unassuming who make continued human existence possible. Some of them may be a little rough around the edges, but most have hearts of purest gold. They comprise a vast army, and I'm sure God must love them very much –– as should all of us.

After all, there are approximately SEVEN-BILLION of us, and only a tiny, vain, arrogant, conceited minority who deliberately set out to deceive others in order to make trouble, –– usually to satisfy an inordinate LUST to gain POWER and CONTROL

NEGATIVISTS long above all else to be able to PUSH OTHERS AROUND at will.

Our best defense against this malicious, toxic minority is to spend our time seeking to know God better, and to love and serve Him at every available opportunity of which there are an infiite number available to us each day.

There's SO much for which we should be grateful starting with Life, itself.

PLEASE let us leave the grousing, complaining, castigating and condemning to the LEFTISTS. I believe the Left has dedicated itself to serve at the pleasure of SATAN, who is the Source of Discontent, Envy, Greed, Doubt, Fear, Spite, Malice, Destrction, and ALL form of Negativity.

GOD, the Creator and Author of Life, is is Satan's direct opposite. SO, let us

"Make a joyful noise unto the Lord . ..
    Serve the Lord with gladness,
Come before His presence with singing.
    Know Ye, hat the the Kird, he is God;
It is He that hath made us and not we, ourselves.
Be thankful unto Him and bless His Name
for the Lord is good. His mercy is everlasting,
And his truth endureth to all generations."

    ~ Psalm 100 - KJV

PS: I love the EYELASHES on God's Eye in the picture, don't you? };^)>

Thanks, Kid, for these always inspiring glimpses of Creation beyond our own limited sphere.

I rarely watch cable news anymore. It's all hysteria, all the time. CNN: "We are destroying the planet." MSNBC: "The middle class is disappearing!" President Donald Trump says drug trafficking "is worse than ever!" I'm glad my favorite magazine, Reason, cuts through the gloom and tells us the truth: There is less war and more food. We live healthier and longer lives. HIV will soon be history. We are increasingly free to be whoever we are and love whom we want. Even work has become more pleasant. It's a surprising message, since most journalists tell us everything's terrible. . . .

Number of Abortions in US Falls to Lowest Since 1973

    Associated Press

    by David Crary

NEW YORK — The number and rate of abortions across the United States have plunged to their lowest levels since the procedure became legal nationwide in 1973, according to new figures released Wednesday. The report from the Guttmacher Institute, a research group that supports abortion rights, counted 862,000 abortions in the U.S. in 2017. That’s down from 926,000 tallied in the group’s previous report for 2014, and from just over 1 million counted for 2011. Guttmacher is the only entity that strives to count all abortions in the U.S., making inquiries of individual providers. Federal data compiled by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention excludes California, Maryland and New Hampshire. . . .

Hispanic Americans Side with Trump on Immigration: ‘I Believe in the Wall’

    Breitbart Politics

    by John Binder

Despite 2020 Democrat presidential primary candidates’ plans to open the border and increase overall immigration to the United States, Hispanic Americans are increasingly siding with President Trump’s “America First” agenda. In interviews with the Albuquerque Journal, a handful of Hispanic voters said they backed Trump’s immigration agenda of ending illegal immigration, building a wall, and reducing legal immigration to raise U.S. wages.“I believe in the wall,” Marcella Trujillo Melendez, a Trump supporter, told the Albuquerque Journal. “I believe in security. This is my country, and I want it to be safe.” “The most important thing to me is that I believe he truly loves America,”

    1. I feel the same, even though I've been a devoted cat fancier most of my life. i admire THEIR independence and self-possession. One has to EARN the love of a cat, and that's not always possible unless the creatyre takes a liking to you of its own accord.

I find it impissible to trust pepple who say they don't like animals. That doesn't mean they HAVE to adopt and care for one, but to DISLIKE a warm-blooded fellow creature who needs our care and loving attention is frankly INEXCUSABLE in my view. I think it's an indication of poor character.

At the same time i DESPISE P_E_T_A, don't you?

Can you understand why i despise PETA?

  18. Yes! Compassion –– like charity –– is improperly labelled if it's FORCED by an authoritarian state or a domineering, autocratic personality.

On the other hand there is NOTHNG WORSE than wallowing in Self-Pity while hoping, expecting –– or worse –– DEMANDING that the world cease spinning n its axis and start to devote itself to cheering you up, –– as though that ought to be the world's primary concern.

Ten Victimhood becime NACISSISM, as it so often does, and everyone around The Victim is held in thrall to The Victim's intensely profitable suffering.

    SICK! SICK! SICK! INDEED!

    ReplyDelete
  19. The nted theologian Oswald Chambers wrote, "SYMPATHY ENERVATES."

The more we give in to self-pity, the more we nurse our grievances, the more we DEMAND that others see us as "special,"because we are unhappy, the weaker, more neurotic, more helpless and ineffectual we get.

Those who get sucked into devoting themselves to CONSOLATION of The Victim rhn become sick, themselves, so EVERYBODY is dimnished by this "syndrome," if that's a proper term for it.

It's always good to HELP others, but it becomes "toxic" if permament DEPENDENCY results from the transaction.

It's like overprotective others who fight their children's battles FOR them.

Result: The CHILD NEVER GROWS UP. –– a sad, sick situation, indeed1!
