It’s the
BELLIGERENCE
and
CRUELTY,
Stupid!

Heretics about to be burned at the stake

Recent discussions on the subject of biblical infallibility and how it relates to the punishment of sin and homosexuality in particular have prompted this article, which hopes to further examine the subject from an historical as well as a humanistic perspective.

The accompanying illustrations tell a story all their own requiring little textual amplification.

Two male lovers at rest

I do not believe the Scriptures are infallible and meant to be taken literally any more than I  believe the Church has been right in its blanket condemnation of homosexuality. The sheer viciousness, arrogance and barbarism of the Old Testament, the dour, pessimistic, anti-human Augustinian view of Christian doctrine, the grim, joyless life-denying aspects of Calvinism, and the smug, purse-lipped, puritanical prating of modern Evangelicals and Fundamentalists have done incalculable harm to untold millions of lives by fostering the kind of self-righteousness that leads to mutual suspicion, resentment, antagonism, official persecution, and the kind of virulent hatred that has often led to violence against those perceived to hold attitudes or engage in behavior proscribed and haughtily condemned by a few verses in the Bible.

Impalement graphically depicted

Having said that I agree that The Church –– and all the rest of us –– have an inherent right to be wrong -- in each other's eyes.

However, once upon a time –– and not so very long ago –– I would not have been able to issue a statement such as the one made above, which clearly implies that the Bible is ANYTHING BUT infallible and still expect to see the sun rise on another day.

Sawing sinners in half

There is nothing more evil than SELF-RIGHTEOUSNESS, which is really nothing more than a pseudo-respectable venue for venting hatred, advocating intolerance and giving an official stamp of approval to Sadistic cruelty.

The Pear of Anguish was inserted into the anus of sodomites, the vagina of
adulteresses, and the mouths of heretics. It was capable of expanding to make
use of sharp knives contained inside designed to mutilate the body cavities of
offenders causing excruciating pain usually followed by infection and death.

The Catherine Wheel. Sinners were stretched over the spokes and
tied down, then their limbs were systematically smashed by clubs
or hammers held by their torturers and executioners

Not even murder is worse, because an assumption of righteousness used as a motive for condemnation of things not properly one's business is a mask for the kind of conceit and overweening pride that too often leads to the most dangerous form of GroupThink –– the Lynch Mob mentality.

The Judas cradle

Sodomites and adulteresses were impaled on this device,
and then systematically tortured until death
mercifully spared them further agony

hose who oppose The Church on this issue are probably right, but that doesn't mean that they have any more right to express their views arrogantly, haughtily and with the kind of aggression that tends to foster violence than vain, puffed up, fired up Evangelicals or those Roman Catholics who not-so-secretly long for a reprise of The Inquisition.

It's the BELLIGERENCE, stupid! The  sadistic, brutal, sheer barbaric viciousness of perverted concepts of "righteousness," apparently sanctioned by the Bible, that ought to sicken us.

We've come a long way since we burned "heretics" at the Stake, and for that we should only be humbly grateful to Almighty God, who has slowly-but-surely led us out of the darkness of primitive savagery, pagan barbarism and the tragic, Mediaeval misunderstanding of Christ's Word into the Enlightenment and hopefully –– someday –– far beyond.

The Coffin Cage where sinners were horribly kept alive
for days on end while their bodies were slowly chewed
by hungry rats or pecked at random by wild birds
and insects while the cage was suspended high above
the ground outside the city gates.

Anyone who does NOT want to see a world where EVERYONE may be loved and enjoyed for who they are is PERVERTED in my never humble opinion.

The Breast Ripper designed to mutilate and tear off
the breasts of women  deemed to be witches
or adulteresses. Sometimes the women were chained
to similar devices affixed to a wall and then roughly
pulled away leaving their breasts behind.

God works in mysterious ways. He cares nothing for manmade Doctrine and Dogma –– the faulty perceptions of ignorant individuals whose motives may be highly suspect. He wants only for us to love one another and live in peace and harmony.
Who knows? –– the admitted obnoxiousness of the Gay Rights Movement, which is really holding up a MIRROR to the twisted, mocking, hate-filled Face of the "Ignoscenti," may be a necessary step on the road to Social Salvation.
The hatred, scorn and mockery you see coming from the Gay Community today is nothing more than a REFLECTION of the abuse stated and implied they have had to endure from the Majority for countless centuries.
The REAL tragedy is the way Marxists have managed to MANIPULATE these ugly dynamics to further the ends of Cultural Marxism, the most ungodly ethos of them all.

Ironically, obdurate religious zealots –– and the dear “Mrs. Grundys,” “Old Wet Hens,” and “Ladies Who Lynch” of this world –– have probably done more to deliver us into the hands of the Communists than all the “Greedy Capitalist Pigs” on Wall Street combined.

If this image offends you as much or more than the other illustrations
accompanying this article, you must be the victim of a tragic mental disorder.

  1. "I do not believe the Scriptures are infallible and meant to be taken literally..."

Those are two separate and distinct issues. If the Bible is not infallible, further discussion is a futile mish-mash of opinions and feelings.

"Meant to be taken literally..." Indeed. There is a lot of commentary from Talmudic rabbis and scholars, as well as early church fathers that shine the light of reason on Biblical passages and reveal their earliest interpretations, but that seems lost on people today.

Yes, self-righteous moralists and inquisitors have visited much un-Christian pain, suffering and death on fellow human beings, all in the name of God, and they have done damage to the cause of Christ.

Now, the anti-Christians are having their revenge.

    1. I admit to being in sympathy with those who despise and reject the pseudo-pious, self-righteous prating of so-called "Christians" –– i.e.cold-hearted Ecclesiastical Tyrants from the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, Backwoods Bible Thumpers, Rigid Doctrinaire Fundamentalists who refuse to THINK and ignore the ramifications of what they imagine they believe.

Those who love to USE twisted interpretations of Christian Tenets as an excuse to visit unimaginble cruelty on fellow human beings for whatever reason are in my judgment no better than petty tyrants, sadistic fiends and mass murderers.

If God were a grim, heartless, humorless AUTHORITARIAN DESPOT, He would not have given us Free Will.

ANY form of COERCION and any use of CRUELTY is, therefore UNGODLY.

    3. Yes. Five or six-hundred years ago, I would either have been Burnt at the Stake or Dismboweled with a Red Hot Poker for daring to say anything like that out loud.

However, I try to see humor in just about everything, so for some reason I'm reminded of Dwight Babcock, of the Knickerbocker Bank –– a bank so conservative it didn't pay any interest at all! Babcock, a quintessential stuffed shirt, is the villainious guardian appointed to keep young Patrick Dennis on the straight and narrow, despite the outrageous antics and Bohemian inclinations of Auntie Mame, Patrick's legal guardian.

"I'm going make a decent, God fearing Christian out of that boy, if i have to break every bone in his body," growled Babcock after he discovered Auntie Mame had disobeyed his instructions to enroll Patrick in The Bixby School –– a grim Bastion of Convention designed to groom the rich young boy to live a dry-veined, restricted existence as an Aryan from Darien married to a vapid blonde heiress with braces on her brains.

There's a lot more to Auntie Mame than zany comedy, although there's certainly plenty of that. I saw the underlying pathos, and tender serious side of the piece, even back in in 1958 when it first came out.

The character Nora Muldoon, the Irish maid who helped raise Patrick with his eccentric aunt, summed it up very well when she said after the Depression hit, and Auntie Mme was broke and reduced to clerking at Macy's during the Christmas rush, Nora said, "You're a lovin' woman, Mum. Oh you're ODD, but you're a lovin' woman."

And THAT, of course, is the entire point of LIVING. The Sound and Fury ultimately signifies nothing, but real LOVE –– the Pearl of Great Price –– ENDURES forever.

I think it's imporant to note that the author, Patrick Dennis, himself was gay. I doubt very much if any "regular guy" could have written a serio-comic masterpiec of such high caliber.

Apparently the character of Auntie Mme was based in Reality, or maybe she was just a Dream Vision the real life Patrick had of somene he wished had been there for him when he was a little boy?

I doubt we'll ever know for sure – and you know what? IT DOESN'T MATTER one way or the other. Auntie Mame is a SPIRIT, and as such she will live forever.

No. Those who support homsexuals are only holding the "self-righteous and moralists" to their Savior's teachings of love and compassion. One cannot profess to be a Christian if one preaches hatred toward and even death to homosexuals. If someone calls himself a Christian, he ought to act like one. Christ said nothing about homosexuals.

Jesus said, "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets."

If Christians truly followed what Jesus said above, this country would be a much better place.

It's true that Christ said nothing about beastiality, pedophiles, or homosexuals, but He also did not exclude those people when He commanded us to love thy neighbor as thyself, did He? That's the really, really difficult part of listening with an open heart to and obeying what Christ commanded. How we manage that when we are faced with something that is unpleasant for us to do is how we will be judged by a greater Judge than those who insist on marginalizing homosexuals.

Such fulminations from obscure Christian preachers are singular enough to make news every time one is dug up. It is also notable Christians are not acting on such rantings.

Jesus Christ loved everyone, including sinners, and spent a lot of time with them.

Did he tell them "its all cool?" No. When the sinner expressed sorrow for his or her sins, he told them they were forgiven, and to "Go, and sin no more."

  5. I forgot to add that beastiality and pedophilia involve unlawful acts on non-consenting animals and children by adults, whereas homosexuals enter into relationships with consenting adults -- there are, of course, times when this is not true, just as there are unlawful sexual encounters by heterosexual people with underage or nonconsenting adults. Also mankind has known for millennia diseases from heterosexual encounters -- syphilis, STDs, Human Papillomavirus. Diseases from heterosexual or homosexual encounters (HIV) are countered by medical science, not by demonizing heterosexuals or homosexuals.

    3. Actually Franco I do not deny that Karl Marx has had a formidable presence in Western thought, both economically and politically.

However, I separate Marx from 20th century communism as practiced in the USSR, Red China, North Korea, Vietnam, etc. I realize that all communist countries began their existence from the result of rebellion against the "establishment". Marx did advocate violent overthrow of the existing social order in the 1850's. The study of Marx has led me to believe he saw violence as a necessary means to achieve a more just social order. IE, a freer more productive social order. Marx actually despised authoritarian dictatorships.

Truth is Franco my admiration for Ayn Rand's individualism (The Fountainhead, We the Living, Anthem, etc.) has not abated. And I continue to find some validity in her views on economics and policy. But I have not maintained my former sense that Rand was almost infallible. Fact is she was a flawed individual and her philosophy overall has flaws as well.

I've often said (to myself) that in some ways our views are more alike than not. In others not so much. You're an interesting individual Franco and while we do clash quite often I continue to find value in some of your perspectives. And, like you I AM MY own MAN. In fact I am not AND have indeed thought much on these issues over the years. And yes, my views have "evolved". More accurately they have changed. Not because I wish to align with some popular modern position but simply because they are right.

Please try not to be so defensive. This most assuredly is NOT WYD, so we strive to discourage reflexive hostility and mindless inanity and rudeness here.

I regard WYD as n ongoing BURLESQUE Show at best. It's impossible to have an honest earnest discussion there for what-should-be obvious reasons.

It reminds of the those fabled booth in dis Carnivals where patrons cn purhse a whole set of china for a modest price and SMSH IT against the back wall to their hearts content. Apparently from the little I've read the DANES regard such carryings on as genuinely "therapeutic."

Better , I suppose, to smash a set of cheap chinai public than to bash your spouse's head in in a fit of pique.

Happened to drive through a rural University town in Connecticut on Saturday afternoon. A couple was standing on the curb with two children probably six and eight, waving the rainbow flag at passing traffic. Luckily it was afternoon and I hadn't eaten since lunch , so didn't bring it up.

As with other forms of cultural rot which has become acceptable and therefore grows more prevalent, the Church is generally silent. As our President told a large group of the nation’s most powerful preachers in his second meeting with them in 2016, the moral state of the nation is up to you guys NOT the government. Absolutely true. This is a spiritual battle.

On June 6th, I received from the VA, an email: "The VA MISSION Act is in effect today!". It noted: “We understand any transformation of this size and on such a rapid timeline is not without risk,” said Russo. “We are aiming for excellence in this effort, and we will continue to tweak and improve the process."

Then on June 12, I got an invitation to :The Bay Pines VA Healthcare System (VAHCS) will hold a special event to celebrate Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender (LGBT) Pride Month on Thursday, June 13." Looks like someone's priorities are not "at risk" at all.

"Pride." You can't call it "Gay Pride" anymore, because of all the other initials. Maybe we can call it "Alphabet Pride."

What I want to know is, what, exactly, are they proud of? Whatever it is, it sure doesn't seem to make them content in themselves. It seems the MUST have the approbation of the rest of us.

Excellent article. Highly recommend. The gay lobby has cowed us all. We are afraid to speak out about their lies because they have power to destroy people, institutions. Talk about tyranny!!!

Why do we tolerate their form of abuse? It is harassment. We’re supposed to love everyone. Uh, ok. But I don’t have to love sexual perversion.

No one will call it for what it is. How can we fight back? I never hear a priest talk about the evils of homosexuality other than generic terms regarding the “crisis in the Church”. Never specifically calling out homosexuality for what it is from the pulpit. That is sad.

We do get references to the evils of abortion all the time. I think homosexuality should be right up there with it. Mother Angelica has said that those individuals with same sex attraction should “fight the good fight”. Like alcoholics, abstaining from the bad stuff will save your life on earth and your eternal life. Pray, seek help. Not proselytizing kindergarteners to accept evil in the name of
    “diversity”.

Getting off soapbox now. Thanks for letting me vent.

Bishop Tobin, not Cardinal Tweets Tobin, just last week told people in his archdiocese not to take part in any LGBT events. Meanwhile a priest in Canada said the same thing and was immediately admonished by his Bishop.

It all comes down to where your Bishop stands. Find an FSSP parish or any parish that has the Latin Mass and attend as much as possible. The 1962 Missal clearly states that sodomy is a sin that cries out to GOD for vengeance.

If you are stuck with only the Novus Ordo, go to one with a more orthodox priest and suggest bringing back Tradition. Inform yourself with Lifesitenews, Church militant, Taylor Marshall, etc. Even Facebook, for now, has me back with the satirical Susan From the Parish Council. There are more of us out there, fighting the good fight. And we know Who wins, so perservere!

I find it interesting that all the groups that either promote or many times embody or enable behavior that have in our Christian past elicited shame must now all have "Pride" days, weeks, or months. The more shameful the behavior, the greater the effort to enforce their "Pride" on the rest of us.

Homosexuality is a mental disease. Once down that path there is no return, which is why it almost invariably results in suicide. It is the only sin that God stands back and allows to take its own course.

So once again the mournful observations of nineteenth-century British poet Matthew Arnold remain as true and as sad in our time as they did in his –– and HE spoke for the AGES:

And we are here as on darkling plane
Swept by confused alarums of struggle and flight

You've got to be taught to hate and fear
You've got to be taught from year to year
It's got to be drummed in your dear little ear
You've got to be carefully taught.

Yo've got to be taught to be afraid
Of people whose eyes seem oddly made
Or people whose skin is a different shade
You've got to be carefully taught.

You've got to be taught before it's too late

Which trilled that her conduct was peccable.
She thought her behavior quite ferior
    But flagrante delicto is wreckable
E'en to those who believe they are superior.

For a time this domitable daughter
    Insisted on staying cognito
Her hibitions flowed freely as water
    From Montauk to Sausoleto.

The results of this all were too effable
Her friends forgot she was ane
They thought she was merely laughable
    Which caused her considerable pain.

"Enough of this!" she said one night

I haven't yet begun to fight
To prove I'm not a vegetable

So petuously did this dam-ned dame
Set out in search of iquity
To make her imical once again
    For righteous ubiquity

Her virtue no longer is vincible

When you take both the lilt and the rhyme out of a limerick, you have NOTHING. Allow me to give you an example of a GOOD limerick which also happens in the wry, satirical fashion of limericks to be ON-TOPIC:

From the depths of the crypt at St. Giles
Came a scream that was heard for miles.
      "Good heavens! Good gracious!"
      Cried Father Ignatius,
"I forgot that Your Grace had piles!"

If we all culd only learn t tend t our own uniting and stop INTERFERING with one another, we'd be all right.

The underlying problem, however, is our apparent innate LUST as a secies always to find smething to HATE, PERSECUTE and try to DESTROY.

    1. Of course it's horrible, but so is everything else I took the trouble to illustrate the article.

Apparently, if we must use TITS as an example, the Sadistic Ecclesiastical Tyrants thought it "sinful" and "Immoral" to stroke, fondle, or suck a tit, but perfectly all rght to rip it to shreds if the woman involved was found GUILTY of ENJOYING the act. Chrch Tyrants were ALWAYS looking for good excuses to inflict maximum pana dn suffering –– even DEATH –– for every sort of pettifogging sexual indiscretion they could dream up..

Same idea with homosexual men.It is MORTAL SIN punishable by TORTURE and DEATH for one man to FUCK another man's ASS, but perfectly justifiable to tear out his guts by shoving a RED HOT POKER up his RECTUM, because he had "SINNED" irredeemably by daring to engage in ANAL INTERCOURSE.

My POINT in posting all this ,of course, was to illustrate graphically how TWISTED, PERVERTED and profoundly EVIL religious fundamentalism really is.

Is it any wonder given our hideous history why we've gone off the deep end by REJECTING Religion, Self-Restraint, and Basic Decency, because the God-damned Church politicians abandned JESUS CHRIST early n, and got drunk on Power and Control instead of embracing true godliness?.
