Our president Donald Trump

SOMETHING
WONDERFUL

This is a man who thinks with his heart,
His heart is not always wise.
This is a man who stumbles and falls,
But this is a man who tries.
This is a man you'll forgive and forgive
And help and protect, as long as you live.

He will not always say
___ what you would have him say
But, now and then he'll say
___ something wonderful.
The thoughtless things he'll do
___ will hurt and worry you,
Then, all at once he'll do
___ something wonderful.

He has a thousand dreams that won't come true
You know that he believes in them
___ and that's enough for you.
You'll always go along,
___ defend him when he's wrong
And tell him when he's strong,
___ he is wonderful.
He'll always needs your love
___ and so he'll get your love
A man who needs your love
___ can be wonderful.

  1. I love this song!

I think that it's for lovers, but the lyrics also fit President Trump.

    1. I see clear parallels between the character of The King, as brilliantly portrayed by Yul Bnrynner, and our President Trump.

The King was volatile, unpredictable, often vain, arbitrary and abrasive, BUT he really DID have the best interests of HIS people and HIS country at heart, which was, of course the point of The King and I, and why the play is so touching –– and why it hs had such asting appeal.

Lady Thiang, his first wife, loved him deeply and unconditionally. She was a truly wise woman, and perhaps THE most significant character in the show, because her unselfisness and steadfast loyalty provided the necessary blank to the King's semi-barbaric-quixotic-yet-almost-saintly nature.

Lady Thiang was able to see beyond The King's Faults, and loved him, despite having been hurt by him numerous times.

Mrs. Anna, who was highly skeptical at first, and who had a notably difficult, sometimes adversarial relationship with The King, came to love him too, and in the end admired him for his good qualities which she could see after all far outweighted his faults.

It came to me jst a few days ago that the similarities between Yul Brynner's King and our President Trump are uncanny.

    2. Yes, Franco, the similarities really are uncanny.

A pity that more Americans do not have a realistic view of our POTUS.

    3. With the Dee Cee and Educational Establishments being what they are constantly aided and abetted by the dark forces of the ENEMEDIA working steadily to discrdit, defame, undermine, and depose him, 'Mr. Trump hasn't been given much of chance, has he?

I hear decent people who're mostly on the Rgh Side complain all the time about the combative, undignified, even childish n ature of his "tweets," but that's nonsense. His tWEEtS are the OnlY chance the public gets to see what our president is really all about.

Is he vulgar and uncouth at times?

      Sure is!

Is his syntax less than impeccably erudite?

      You bet!

But unlike most who play the poitical game he's AUTHENTIC. People sense that, and frankly love hm for it. Trump and I are about as different as any two peple could be, yet I have grown not only trust him and admire him. I have grown to love him.

The people who think they hate him only listen to the many others who've made a CAREER out of reviling the president.

      He has a thousand dreams
      ___ that won't come true
You know that he believes in them
___ and that's enough for you....

All i can say to that is, "YES!"

    1. Leep the faith, Kid.

      Miracles CAN happen.

A friend of mine wh's been fighting cancer for thirteen years was told at the outset he only had three or four more months to live at best. Well, HE is a man of spirit, so he FIRED that doctor, found another with a more positive approach who told him, "Never give up the fight until they're puttng the second shovelful of dirt on you coffin."

My friend has a geat sense of humor, found that hilarious, and though he's been to hell and back several times with radical surgery and really vicious chemotherapy, he's still alive, and still participating in family and community life.

He doesn't know how long he has, but he's determinede to make the most of whatever time he has left.

In that regard he's a lot lke Donald Trump. those two guys have ore GUTS than anyone else I've ever known.

I could never match their performance either ne of them, bu i sure can RESPECT and ADMIRE it.

      Good role models both!

    2. It's THE BANNER HEADLINE at Lucianne.com News Forum Homepage right now.

Lucianne is usually very reliable. Runs an admirably tight ship in the comments section.

We'll see what the evening News brings right quick.

In any event I'm pretty sure RBG is done for regardless.

Time to bring in my pet Deathwatch Beetle. (:-x

    3. There has been no further news about RBG, and that headline never developed into an ARTICLE, so I took the item down, since there has bee no corroboration either at L.com or anywhere else.

I'm sorry. Usully Lucianne is VERY reliable and honest with anything she permits to appear at her website.

Oh well, we're all entitled to make a mistake now and then.

In any case poor RBG's future prospects do not look good, but only Time will tell when where and hw her story ends.

To Err Is Human, to Detect Divine

    Taki’s Magazine

    by Theodore Dalrymple

The pedant seeks error, not truth, and delights to find it. Indeed, the search for error may be the entire purpose of his reading, to judge from certain books dating from the 19th century in my possession. In them, the sole mark made by a previous reader is the emphatic underlining, often accompanied in the margin by an explanation mark or some other expression of joyful discovery, of an error, whether of printing or grammar or fact, and of whatever magnitude. The intellectual or moral significance of the error is quite beside the point; ...
